This is a hidden gem! Doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside easy to miss all together. Cozy inside not fancy, but the most amazing freshly home cooked food and at a great price. Must try the Steak and cream sauce it's the best.

This place is a gem! Walked over here with a friend in the neighborhood and we had an amazing meal. The quality of the food, service, and atmosphere is like being a guest in someone’s home. I got the sampler platter and loved every bit of it. Walk in through the back door.

This was such a fantastic experience! Incredibly authentic and welcoming. Don’t get fooled by the front if you are looking to try this place. The entrance is in the back. The owner actually flagged out group down to make sure we find it! The food was delicious and clearly made fresh in house. Their tortillas were amazing and the tamales were probably the best I’ve had in the area. It’s a local gem that will take you straight to Central America! You know it’s good when folks from their home country find the food they love in their new home! Try this place, you won’t be disappointed!

This place is top tier! Prices are more than fair and the food takes you back home and brings so much comfort. Also the beans are vegan and pupusa can be made vegan without cheese. Corn tamales are a perfect add on to your meal and are also vegan ! This place is certified delicious!

It's a low key eatery. Server was amazing and the food was awesome. The papusas are some of the best around.

Best Central American food I've had in Iowa so far!! Felt like I was back home in Guatemala, even though they serve Salvadoran food. Don't be discouraged to go inside by the looks from outside the building. It's a super nicely decorated and welcoming place in the inside. Service was great, with the owner's daughter as our waitress and even met the cooks who also were super nice people. Definitely coming back on another time I visit Des Moines!
